DESIGN: TKO STRUCTURE

 

Alice Leon, the administrator of Magic Years Nursery School in Tarzana, along with her parents, Warren and Mary Campbell (Founders; 1965), contacted us with the idea of having a Rocketship playhouse as an addition to their wonderful school play yard.  We were very excited by the idea, and had originally planned to build the playhouse as a three 'stage' structure. However, as soon as the building phase progressed, we all agreed, that perhaps we should reduce the scale to a more proportionally appropriate 2 stage structure for the younger children. Upon completion, the school had an 'opening ceremony' for the children and parents (see video below), all the children seeemed to have a good time and everyone seemed very happy with the final results.
