CEDAR PLANTER BOXES

DESIGN: TKO STRUCTURE

The site for the planter boxes were located on a sloping berm. Therefore, we settled on an assymetrical set of stepped boxes that were nestled into the slope and yet still afforded access to the various parts of the planter boxes.

The construction of the boxes consisted of utilizing 2 x 6 planks of rough hewn western cedar with alternating corner joints. We then graded the soil and trenched out the perimeter and spread gravel into and over the area. We then laid 1/2 inch galvanized netting to keep out gophers and moles. Finally, the boxes were cored to accept rebar that was driven deep into the ground.
